The Interceltic and Atlantic Games 2007: the Breton example.

The 2007 Interceltic and Atlantic Watergames balance was excellent, in spite of the weather which hasn’t always been good. A lot of people came to what became the great summer event in Northern Finistère. The Opening Ceremony attracted hundreds of people in spite of the rain. The exhibitors of the Celtic Market saw numerous visitors in their stands, and the cultural animations, the concerts and the parades were great successes.
This year, the Interceltic and Atlantic Watergames broke the record of participation: 511 competitors coming from the whole Atlantic Area took part in the only international championship which emphasizes on the marine leisure activities of the Atlantic Area. The level of competition is higher every year and great international champions take part in the competition.
For the third year in a row, the Basques won the competition, which was very tight this year. The Bretons reached the second place and the Cornish the third.
